About

Connection Across the Spectrum (CATS)

is a Louisiana-based nonprofit organization dedicated to building inclusive, meaningful opportunities for young adults on the autism spectrum. We create spaces where individuals can connect, grow, and thrive through community programs, social engagement, and supported housing initiatives. Every donation helps us expand programs that foster independence, friendship, and belonging for neurodiverse adults.

Our belief in the potential of every individual guides our commitment to building inclusive, connected communities where people can embrace their true selves, shape their own future, and contribute to a stronger, more unified world.

Our Mission

Our Mission

Connection Across the Spectrum (CATS) is a Louisiana-based nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of autistic and neurodivergent children, teens, and young adults through inclusive community experiences, social-emotional development, and sensory-informed support. Our mission is to create accessible, developmentally appropriate opportunities that build communication, confidence, self-regulation, and meaningful social connection. We partner with families, schools, and community organizations to strengthen participation, reduce isolation, and promote belonging across all environments. CATS provides sensory-informed programming, social-skills groups, community outings, and family support grounded in neurodiversity-affirming practices. Our work is guided by licensed occupational therapists, mental health professionals, educators, and trained volunteers committed to helping neurodivergent individuals thrive. Our long-term vision is to build innovative, inclusive community spaces and resources that expand access, reduce barriers, and create opportunities for growth for neurodivergent individuals across Jefferson and Orleans Parishes.
